Sarpy County Juvenile Justice Center Hosts “Reporting”
When the Sarpy County Juvenile Justice Center reached out to RESPECT, we were pleased to discuss what we could offer for the teens in their center. Before doing so, our staff learned about the facility and residents during a tour at the center learning that the teens who reside there are often runaways, out of school, somehow in trouble with the law. While the center has teachers on site, they do not often have the opportunity to have organizations like RESPECT present there. On January 7, 2020, we performed “Reporting” for the group demonstrating the importance of positive bystander behavior and the severe consequences that bullying can have if not resolved. The teens were responsive and engaged during the performance and talk-back discussion and it is our hope to continue collaborating with the Sarpy County Juvenile Justice Center in the future.
