Project Everlast Hosts RESPECT to Stage Conversations About Interviews and the Workplace
When Project Everlast, a statewide, youth-led initiative committed to providing resources, connections and support to young adults as they age out of foster care, wanted to help their members gain skills for the interview process and the workplace, they called upon RESPECT to help. Through a customized workshop, RESPECT used role-play to help attendees problem-solve new or uncomfortable situations. During the session, participants learned to feel empowered about being able to interview properly and what the overall interview experience would be like. They experienced examples of a positive interview and negative interview and practiced how to respond to challenging, uncomfortable, or unprofessional questions. The workshop also prompted attendees to identify people for support in their personal lives who can help them prepare for future interviews and help them through their hiring and work experience.
