Meet RESPECT Actor Educator: Matt

What is your favorite RESPECT educational play?

Explorers In Cyberspace, where students learn how to engage in appropriate online behavior, how
to stop and think before acting on an emotion, and how to ask a trusted adult for help.

What is the best part of your job?

The best party of my job is getting to consistently perform on stage with great people. I also believe theater is a great teaching tool. Our plays give students easy to digest lessons on difficult subjects.

What is the best part of your interactions at RESPECT programs?

Because we are all about dealing with big feelings in healthy ways, a lot of my interactions are very positive. It is great to see people come up with unique ways to help in a difficult situation, or to watch a group of friends cheer on the person who just got up for a role play.

What is something that you’ve learned by being part of RESPECT?

Even adults need to learn how to stop and think before they act so they can make healthy choices. A lot of our plays are made for kids, but the lessons are for everybody.
