Meet RESPECT Board Member: Morgan Hecht
Why is RESPECT important to you?
RESPECT is consistent with my values and the things I believe are important to spread specific acceptance of all people and advocate for dignity for all. We are at a time of great divide in our country and community. RESPECT is working every day to help people achieve a greater understanding and acceptance of each other through very simple approaches.
What is your favorite RESPECT program and why?
I love STOP AND THINK because it is so engaging and amusing. It approaches some difficult yet basic subjects with humor and empathy. The young audience follows this performance with great interest.
How did you get involved with RESPECT?
As a staff member of Family Enrichment, I have known about RESPECT since its inception. One day Patricia asked if I would like to be on the Board and I jumped at the chance.
What would it have been like to have RESPECT when you were a kid in school?
It would have introduced us to topics and issues that generally weren’t discussed when I was young. It would have contributed to the creation of a different environment for children and youth that facilitated better mental health .
What do you like about being on the board of RESPECT?
It has provided me the opportunity to meet and work with wonderful, creative people that I would have never otherwise met.
